On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, the Lake Grove Fire District Board unanimously adopted a resolution to place a five-year Local Option Levy Renewal on the May 16, 2023 ballot. This is a vote-by-mail election.
If passed, Ballot Measure #3-598 would allow the District to renew its local option tax levy for fire services at a rate of $.15 per $ 1,000 dollars of assessed value on real property located within the District, beginning in FY 2024-25. Total amount of local option tax to be raised is $ 456,379.
The Districts contracts with the City of Lake Oswego for the provision of all fire services for District residents. This levy, if approved, will be used to reimburse the City for those services. A small portion of the levy would be retained by the District to pay for District administration such as auditing, legal services and election expenses.
Ballot Measure #3-598 passed overwhelmingly by a 83.92% to 16.08% margin. The results affirm the great support and value from the Lake Grove community regarding our residents and their safety. Thank you.
